Adult Autism & ADHD Assessment (18+)
A thoughtful, supportive assessment process to help you better understand yourself. Whether you’ve been questioning if Autism or ADHD may be part of your story for some time, or are just beginning to explore, this space is about making sense of your experiences with clarity and care.
The assessment process is a guided, relaxed conversation where we take the time to really understand you; your history, your strengths, your challenges, and the patterns you’ve noticed across your life.
The goal is for you to receive a report that feels personal and reflective of your experiences, while also giving you clear and practical next steps for support.
You might be considering an assessment if you:
-

Clarity & Practical Next Steps
Move from wondering and second-guessing to having a clearer understanding of how your brain works, what may be getting in the way, and what kinds of support may actually help.
-

Make Sense of Masking and People-Pleasing
Explore why you may overthink social interactions, struggle to say “no”, feel disconnected from your emotions, or become reactive when you’ve been stretched too thin.
-

A Kinder Way to Understand Yourself
Assessment can help you move away from “I should be able to manage this” and towards a clearer, more compassionate understanding of your brain, your needs, and your preferences.

Frequently asked questions
-
You do not need a referral for an assessment.
If you are under 25 years old, you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for an autism assessment. Speak to your GP, specialist, or visit the Medicare website for more information.
-
Autism and ADHD often overlap, and many adults recognise parts of themselves in both. Sometimes what looks like anxiety, burnout, emotional overwhelm, difficulty focusing, social exhaustion, or feeling “different” can be connected to Autism, ADHD, or a combination of both.
Assessing for both allows us to look at the full picture, rather than focusing just on one part of your experience. This helps create a more accurate understanding of how your brain works, what may have been missed earlier in life, and what kinds of support may be most helpful moving forward.
-
I use a combination of clinical interviews and questionnaires, which includes the MIGDAS for Autism and the DIVA-5 for ADHD, along with questionnaires that are sensitive to masking and the ways Autism and ADHD can present in adults.
-
That is completely okay, and actually very common! Many people come to their assessment with a mix of questions and uncertainties. The assessment process is designed to gently explore the bigger picture, and care is taken to consider other experiences and conditions that may also be present.
-
Your report may be helpful as supporting documentation for workplace adjustments, university supports, or further referrals. However, it cannot guarantee access to NDIS funding or other external supports, as these organisations have their own processes and eligibility criteria. If NDIS access is one of your main reasons for seeking assessment, please mention this in your enquiry so we can talk this through before you book.
-
That is okay. Childhood information can be very helpful, but not everyone has access to a parent, caregiver, or someone who knew them well when they were younger. We can use other sources of information where available, such as school reports, previous assessments, or examples from different stages of your life.
-
Assessments are available both online and in person. We can discuss what feels most comfortable and appropriate for you when you enquire.
-
The time from first appointment to receiving your report can vary depending on appointment availability, how quickly questionnaires are completed, and report preparation time. Once all information has been collected, you can expect your report within 3-4 weeks.
-
Yes. Please include this in your enquiry if you would like to chat about payment plans. The total fee is due prior to receiving your report and booking your feedback session.
